About The Position

Summary: Alcon Industries is looking for a Fabrication Supervisor responsible for the design, engineering drawings, and integrity of the layouts for Alcon’s fabricated products. This individual will work with customers and Alcon personnel in Engineering, Operations, and Sales to create and monitor the development of Alcon’s fabricated offerings. The Fabrication Supervisor also works to continuously improve the materials, labor process, and the development of cost estimates and quotes.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing.
  • Welding experience of at least 5 years and Fabrication experience of at least 5 years.
  • Analyze demand signals and determine scheduling accordingly.
  • Mechanical working knowledge of metal fabrication equipment.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to use measuring devices and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Quality communications and development of good working relationships with others in the organization, including customer communication.
  • Ability to be flexible, be readily adaptable, and work in a rapidly and constantly changing environment.
  • Possess superior organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Possesses a high degree of personal accountability, self-motivated with a strong bias for action.
  • Excellent time management, documentation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate fabrication schedule with the Production Managers and Shipping Manager.
  • Directly supervises shop employees.
  • Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Review blueprints and shop drawing details.
  • Inspect work in progress and finished products per the shop’s Quality Control Plan.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Plans or adjusts work hours to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Maintains time and production records using production software.
  • Developing and maintaining shop capabilities for performing cutting, fitting, and welding.
  • Performing quality control on projects throughout development to maintain expected standards.
  • Must be dedicated to daily operations and development of this department.
  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions.
  • Responsible for all processes, equipment, safety, and housekeeping of the area
