About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking Fabrication Specialists to support our site in Orangeburg, South Carolina on Variable Shift. Primary Responsibilities: Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Requirements

  • Ability to work a variable shift.
  • 1+ years of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
  • Able to stand and walk throughout work shift (6+ hours) as well as carry and lift up to 25 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience with Lean Principles (Continuous Improvement, Standard Work, and 5-S tools)
  • 1 year of experience leading any of the following: staff, teams, production, or quality system initiatives
  • 1 year of experience with managing or working to safety, quality, and manufacturing performance data
  • 1 year of experience with sanding, taping, mixing material, the application of paint
