About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking Fabrication Specialists (B, C, or D) to support our site in Orangeburg, South Carolina on variable shift. Primary Responsibilities: Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Requirements

  • Ability to work a variable shift.
  • 1+ years of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
  • Able to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 year of experience with Lean Principles (Continuous Improvement, Standard Work, and 5-S tools)
  • 1 year of experience leading any of the following: staff, teams, production, or quality system initiatives
  • 1 year of experience with managing or working to safety, quality, and manufacturing performance data
  • 1 year of experience with sanding, taping, mixing material, the application of paint
