About The Position

Position Overview Victaulic is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Fabrication Scheduler to coordinate and optimize production schedules for our fabrication operations. This role is critical to ensuring efficient workflow, on-time delivery, and optimal resource utilization across our Victaulic fabrication locations. Key Responsibilities Production Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules for all fabrication operations, balancing customer delivery requirements with available resources and capacity constraints. Coordinate the sequencing of jobs through various fabrication processes including cutting, grooving, welding, finishing, and assembly to maximize throughput and minimize bottlenecks. Monitor work-in-progress and adjust schedules proactively to accommodate priority changes, equipment breakdowns, or material delays. Host and facilitate daily production meetings to review schedule performance, discuss priorities, address operational challenges, and coordinate activities across departments. Procurement & Material Management Purchase pipe and related materials for Victaulic supplied fabrication jobs, ensuring timely procurement to support production schedules. Manage all P-card (purchasing card) transactions for the facility, including processing purchases, reconciling statements, maintaining proper documentation, and ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies Coordinate with suppliers to verify material availability, lead times, and delivery dates for scheduled fabrication work. Track material orders and expedite deliveries as needed to prevent production delays. Liaison between fab shop and external vendors for coatings and linings. Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, quality control, and shipping departments to ensure seamless information flow and alignment on project timelines. Communicate schedule updates and potential delays to project managers, sales teams, and customers, providing realistic delivery commitments. Lead daily production meetings to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned on priorities, resource allocation, and schedule changes. Resource Management Analyze shop floor capacity and allocate resources effectively, including labor, equipment, and workstation availability. Identify scheduling conflicts and resource constraints in advance, proposing solutions to maintain production flow. Track key performance metrics such as on-time delivery rates, schedule adherence, and equipment utilization. Documentation & Systems Maintain accurate records in the production scheduling system, updating job status, completion dates, and any schedule modifications Generate regular reports on production performance, schedule compliance, and potential risks for management review

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in manufacturing, operations management, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in production scheduling, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Mendix
  • Solid understanding of fabrication processes, shop floor operations, and manufacturing workflows
  • Experience with procurement processes and vendor management
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with experience facilitating meetings and leading cross-functional discussions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office application

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of pipe specifications, materials, and Victaulic systems preferred
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, welding, and machining operations
  • Familiarity with piping systems and mechanical joining methods
