About The Position

Temp To Full-Time $22 to $25. Here is what the managers are looking for: We want MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) experience. We also feel we lack in the fit-up experience. This person should also understand heat stresses and warping. This person might not need to supervise straight out the gate, but the right person will end up being the leader.

Requirements

• MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) experience
• Fit-up experience
• Understand heat stresses and warping
• 5-10 years weld/fabrication experience

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Team Supervision: Supervise and coach welders Assign daily tasks and track progress Conduct regular quality checks and ensure on-time completion
• Workload & Project Planning: Coordinate with the Production Management and Purchasing departments to: Forecast upcoming material needs Ensure material availability ahead of deadlines Read project schedules and plan shop workload accordingly Enforces correct fit-up practices using jigs and fixtures
• Inventory & Material Control: Monitor and reorder welding gases (bottles) as needed Track consumables: filler rod, wire, grinding discs, nozzles, etc. Maintain and organize in-shop materials for in-progress jobs
• Shop Organization & Maintenance: Own 5S: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored
• Documentation & Communication: Submit daily/weekly reports on progress, labor usage, and materials Communicate effectively with Production, Purchasing, and QC Report nonconformities and suggest process improvements
