A day in the life You start by reviewing certs and lot IDs to maintain full material traceability. A truck arrives and you perform incoming inspections, checking type, size, and quality against Argon Industries criteria and ASTM/AISI standards—including flatness and squareness. Mid-morning, you run a first-article on a welded assembly using a Keyence CMM and traditional tools (micrometers, height gages, calipers, squares, pin/thread gages). You capture results, compare them to blueprints and the Job Traveler, and note a minor deviation. After lunch, you partner with engineering to update a drawing and program, then document the change to the Job Traveler to ensure clear and accurate information on the floor. A customer complaint prompts a quick 5 Why session; you log a CAR, follow up with a supplier via a SCAR, and align stakeholders on actions and timing. Before wrapping, you organize QA files, prep evidence for an upcoming ISO internal audit, and advance a PPAP submission for a new part. Along the way, you coach teammates on gauge use, reinforce Argon’s Quality Policy and ISO procedures, and share one new idea to improve efficiency and safety. What you will do Champion Argon’s Quality Policy & Requirements and ISO procedures; train and monitor employees for adherence. Assist with ISO internal audits and maintain audit-ready documentation. Analyze new parts and complete PPAP deliverables. Communicate with customers, suppliers, and coworkers; prepare, review, enforce, and follow up on CARs, SCARs, and customer complaints, ensuring timely, complete paperwork. Organize and maintain Quality Assurance documentation and files. Interpret ASTM and AISI standards and assess compliance (including flatness and squareness). Read and interpret the Job Traveler, blueprints, drawings, and deviations to ensure compliance with customer requirements. Train and assist personnel on potential problems, safety concerns, and methods to increase efficiency. Partner with engineering and manufacturing to keep drawings, Job Travelers, and programs current and accurate. Observe, evaluate, and recommend improvements to policies and procedures. Identify appropriate materials; verify type, size, quantity, and quality, and maintain full traceability. Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections for internal welding and fabrication. Inspect incoming materials against Argon Industries’ criteria. Revise and maintain quality-related Work Instructions. All other duties as assigned.
