As a Fabrication Operator, you will Performs fabrication operations and processes using a wide range of hand and power tools. Performs set-up duties in accordance with production documentation (SOP/MOPs). Positions production materials and tooling and maintains proper dimensions according to print specifications. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: Diagnose and solve root problems to ensure production flow is maintained. Demonstrates flexibility by performing rotational assignments as needed. Adheres to department 5S standards daily. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area. Maintains equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation. Meets established safety, quality, performance standards to ensure production schedules are met. Records accurate information on Manufacturing Order and performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances. Complies with all applicable safety procedures, quality specifications, and 5S Standards. Reports adverse conditions, non-conforming products/procedures, and 5S violations to department leader in accordance to escalation procedure. Sets up and operates heavy-duty power equipment to bend, form, stretch and straighten a variety of products / materials such as plates, extrusions, structural shapes, etc. as specified by blueprints, layout, and templates. Perform duties required to assist setup and operate multiple automatic and/or multi-slide equipment perform simultaneous processes for a variety of products. Ability to understand and work from drawings, order / route sheets, schedules, written, and verbal instructions. Check material for correct size, type, identification, configuration and color. Assist with set-up of dies, movable and stationary equipment, forming blocks, adjust stroke and feed as needed. Competent use micrometers, calipers, scales, tape measures, calculators and fixed gauges to check work in process and ensure adherence to specifications. Move materials in the performance of duties using pallet jack, lift truck or crane (if PIT qualified) as necessary. Install and check safety devices as needed for specific jobs. Report faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor or other appropriate resources. Observe and adhere to all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition. Perform other related duties as assigned or directed, which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs.

Requirements

Experience in assembling mechanical parts into a finished product
Proven experience of strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
Strong troubleshooting skills necessary, with the ability to make informed decisions.
Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet operational deadlines.
Must be self-motivated, safety and quality conscious, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes
Experience following work instructions or reading blueprints
Experience in using hand and power tools
Heavy lifting required (up to 50 lbs).

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working in a light industrial facility preferred
Lift truck operator experience recommended.
