The Fabrication Lead is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of fabrication personnel and vendors on assigned projects, as well as fabricating exhibit components. This is a hands-on position, working closely with the Exhibits Production Manager to assign daily tasks and be a resource to fabricators. The Fabrication Lead also assists the Exhibits Production Manager with estimating projects, and ordering and maintaining material and consumable stocks. They divide their time between focusing on front-end planning and fabricating exhibits, and they help in developing a culture of continuous improvement that encourages growth among fabrication and exhibit staff. Qualified applicants will have, but not limited to: Ability to effectively manage and work on multiple projects or tasks in different phases of development, often with overlapping and time-sensitive deadlines; Ability to model and support a positive team dynamic with people from diverse talents and backgrounds, with an emphasis on team-based collaboration and product evaluation; Ability to effectively supervise and oversee quality of work of others; Demonstrated knowledge of finish carpentry/cabinet-making skills/woodworking Ability to work safely and an understanding of shop safety protocols; Ability to produce quality products in a production environment; Ability to work on multiple projects in different phases of development. Position requires two years experience in a shop environment or similar production house and d emonstrated experience and/or the ability to lead and supervise a team of fabrication and exhibit creation professionals in a shop environment. Must pass a criminal history background check and reference checks.
