About The Position

The Fabrication Lead will be a highly motivated and talented incumbent responsible for verifying the program and set up for the angle cell to meet blueprint specifications. The incumbent will aggressively work as part of the production team to meet department goals and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience, no HS diploma.
  • Ability to read and accurately follow production blueprints, technical manuals and instructions.
  • Ability to use a computer to enter production data, perform time keeping functions, and interface with machines, and other equipment.
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure, calculator, tri-square, thread gage, caliper, micrometer, specialty gage and plug gage.
  • Experience performing setups and changeovers on all cells within the standard work time guidelines.
  • Experience performing quality checks on manufactured goods.
  • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing methodology.
  • Ability to bend and pivot as well as lift, push and pull objects weighing 25 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Hands-on machining operations experience to include milling, boring, drilling, turning, tapping, sawing, and automated cut-off machines.
  • Hands-on experience operating lathes and horizontal machining centers.
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results.
  • Skills Basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fraction conversion).
  • Ability to communicate orally and written.
  • Ability to comprehend technical manuals, blueprints as we all as multi-step oral and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
  • The incumbent must be able to gain complete knowledge of all set ups on specified machines.
  • Must be able to read and interpret production blueprints and process sheets.
  • The incumbent must know how to read and use a tape measure, calculator, tri-square and all types of specialty gages.
  • The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the shop and work conditions in a clean and safe condition.
  • The incumbent is responsible for reporting all damaged machine parts, gauging and fixtures.
  • This position requires the employee to have a good mechanical aptitude and prior operating experience with angle cell equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of angle experience in a production environment.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy while working in a fast paced environment with multiple distractions.
  • Prior experience using MFG Pro or QAD applications.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of drills, saws and cut-off machines.
  • Operate the various t angle machines, set up and verify programs to blueprint specifications.
  • Initiative to make suggestions which will improve efficiency in operating the machines and/or parts production.
  • Ensure accurate production reports are completed.
  • Assists in training with team members of various skill levels.
  • Read and accurately follow production blueprints, technical manuals and instructions.
  • Participating in lean improvements and other team projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
