About The Position

Works under the direction of the Production Supervisor or Plant Manager, to lead and assist in coordinating the activities of fellow production coworkers to achieve established production schedules and goals. Works as part of the production team to produce product. These duties are in addition to the employees’ normal job duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); five-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic computer skills as well as the ability to learn and operate in an ERP environment is required.
  • Technical competence in area being led.
  • Complete OSHA 30 training.
  • Demonstrates values of honesty and integrity, respect for others, teamwork and collaboration.
  • Physical requirements include: Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds when turning parts over, dependent on the part being handled. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, bending, pulling, and extended periods of standing.
  • The employee in this position must wear OSHA approved safety shoes with metatarsal guards, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and grinding and/or cutting shield when using grinder or power cutters.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed, and all safety equipment or apparel is worn as required.
  • Rotating member of shop safety committee responsible for safety audits, accident investigations and corrective/preventive action implementation.
  • Is a Wildeck Certified First Responder or will go through training within six months of accepting the role.
  • Assist with interpretation of job specifications and drawings.
  • Assign and prioritize duties utilizing EPICOR dispatch lists. Ensure jobs are clocked into via EPICOR.
  • Ensure proper paperwork is available, parts are properly identified. Correct paperwork or escalate the issue to the Production Supervisor/Plant Manager for resolution.
  • Review production schedules/dispatch lists to increase on-time delivery and provide completion estimates based on manpower and equipment availability.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Implement employee suggestions.
  • Periodically review/inspect parts to ensure quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping in the department/area.
  • Assists with any necessary technical training or re-training of team members.
  • Support and ensure policies, procedures and standards are followed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
