Infiltrator Water Technologies' Walker, LA site is seeking a mid-level Fabrication / Project Engineer with a strong background in mechanical design, SolidWorks, and CAD modeling. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in structural steel manufacturing, fabrication processes, and welding standards (ASME, ISO, AWS). This role requires both technical expertise and leadership, including the ability to mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver efficient, cost-effective engineering solutions from concept through production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD (2D & 3D design).
  • Experience in structural steel manufacturing and welding practices.
  • Knowledge of ASME, ISO, and AWS welding codes.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to mentor team members.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of project engineering experience in manufacturing or fabrication industries.
  • Customer-facing experience in design reviews and technical presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop structural steel vessels and mechanical components, ensuring integration of structural, piping, and mechanical requirements.
  • Create, review and update technical drawings, 3D models, and fabrication packages to support accurate and efficient manufacturing.
  • Apply metal fabrication and welding standards to adhere to quality requirements and compliance.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design team members.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project management teams to ensure on-time, cost-effective project delivery.
  • Lead design reviews and technical presentations for stakeholders and customers.
