Hope Valley Country Club, located in Durham, North Carolina, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, is hiring for for a Food and Beverage Manager Assistant. Founded in 1926, Hope Valley is an elite private club featuring a classic Donald Ross designed golf course, state-of-the-art tennis facility, resort-style pool complex, and a spacious, welcoming clubhouse offering its members first-class recreation, dining, and programming. Hope Valley is ideally situated in the heart of one of Southeast’s most vibrant, exciting areas. The Food & Beverage Assistant Manager will support daily operations and deliver an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests. This individual will play a key role in leading service teams, maintaining high standards, and assisting in the execution of club dining, events, and special functions.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a club, hospitality, or upscale restaurant environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs as needed

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily management of all food and beverage operations, including dining outlets, banquets, and special events
  • Lead and supervise front-of-house staff to ensure exceptional service standards are consistently met
  • Support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of service staff
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor, engaging with members and guests to ensure satisfaction
  • Coordinate closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless execution of service
  • Assist in planning and executing club events, tournaments, and private functions
  • Monitor service quality, cleanliness, and overall presentation of dining areas
  • Support inventory management, ordering, and cost controls, including COGS tracking
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Handle member feedback professionally and resolve any service-related concerns
