Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an F/A 18 Service Life Modification (SLM) Senior Manufacturing Manager (level M) to support all aspects of the F/A 18 SLM Program in San Antonio, TX! The F/A 18 SLM Senior Manufacturing Manager will be accountable to F/A 18 Program Director and Program Senior Management, to include Site Leadership for the execution success of the structural modification and repairs work statement on aircraft within the F/A 18 Service Life Modification (SLM) Program. Position Responsibilities: Lead, enable, and oversee the standardized execution of the aircraft structures modification and repair work statements on each aircraft on the program for the desired safety, quality, turn-around time, and cost outcomes Direct and provide guidance to first level managers to ensure the prioritization, integration and execution of the combined work statement and foster the timely resolution of daily issues as they arise Manage the deployment and distribution of mechanics and technicians across each aircraft product line for skill and talent balancing, efficiency, and mission success Champion continuous improvement initiatives to institute a culture of eliminating constraints, continuous innovation, improvement, agile change management and team excellence Manage, develop, and inspire employees and first level managers on the program to create a winning spirit, “can-do” attitude, and a passion for excellence Develop and execute integrated organizational plans, procedures and guide the development of business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives Ensure the availability of technical and support resources to accomplish the daily work Play an active role in the formulation of daily work plans, short term and long-range work plans on each aircraft product line in collaboration with our Industrial Engineering (IE) Create and foster win-win outcomes through the optimum use of our mechanic and technician populations on the program Develop and maintain relationships/partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports Collaborate with functional partners to ensure alignment, seamless integration, constraint resolution and continuous improvement under a single team approach Cost and schedule across multiple F-18 aircraft Responsible for Safety and Quality at a program level Mentoring/coaching of first line managers This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
