About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Experienced Logistics Representative (LSR) to serve as a liaison between United States Navy (USN)/United States Marine Corps (USMC) Fleet, Training units, and Industry located at China Lake, California. The position will support customer requirements, continually enhance the skills of supply personnel, and communicate supply chain issues back to Boeing for Asset Management involvement and process improvements. The LSR will be highly skilled and experienced with USN Aviation Supply Department processes and procedures, Boeing logistics systems, IETM and FAME data suite, and the USN Naval Aviation Maintenance Program. You are applying for a Field Operations position where our employees must be willing and able (potentially short-notice) to travel to a variety of locations (domestic and/or international) to meet our customers’ unique requirements. Field Operations employees may be required to relocate to another Field Operations location based on customer and/or management requirements. Specific contracts supported by Field Operations could require employees to perform a deployment to a US DOD contingency operation. Employees associated with these specific contracts must be able to pass military contractor health standards for deployment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with intermediate level Logistics support
  • Previous experience support military customers in logistics
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Ability to handle secret classified material, and COMSEC
  • Basic understanding of shipping and receiving; including dangerous goods
  • Basic knowledge of inventory procedures and preparation of MILSTRIP requisitions for submission to USN
  • Willing and able to work any shift (Must be able & willing to work various shifts and / or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays; mission requirements and / or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime)
  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience building custom or ad-hoc reports is desirable
  • Previous experience utilizing Vector system database
  • Previous experience providing training to peers

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site assistance to USN/USMC organizational and intermediate level logistics personnel in solving difficult system logistics problems
  • Perform routine ‘rounds’ to all associated logistics shops and maintenance control centers and query for help needed
  • Provide ad hoc and over-the-shoulder training
  • Provide support and clarification for various logistics support issues including but not limited to Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), Total Asset Management, electronic Data Access Library (eDAL), etc.
  • Investigate logistics support issues, document the noted deficiencies for additional Asset Management, and use established conventions to communicate logistics information
  • Provide liaison between USN/USMC logistics personnel and the contractor
  • Coordinate OEM and NAVAIR Engineering reach back support
  • Provide Retrofit change technical coordination, as required
  • Provide detachment and deployment support upon request
  • Provide logistics support in identifying, finding, and tracking sources of supply for critical and difficult to obtain material
  • Document all actions in an F/A-18 system database (Vector)
