We are seeking a COMSEC Engineer - Functional Lead to join the F-35 JPO program in Arlington, VA. This is a proposal effort with award expected late-2026. The F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) supports development, acquisition, fielding, modernization, and sustainment of the F-35 joint strike fighter. The F-35 JPO Security Directorate provides full spectrum multi-disciplined security support to protect F-35 technology and information across its enterprise and throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle. This includes providing advice and services for programmatic security measures that deny unauthorized access to F-35 facilities, equipment, and resources, and protect personnel, information, and property from damage and/or loss of technology. As the COMSEC Engineer - Functional Lead, duties include: Perform COMSEC engineering for the systems cryptographic and key management architecture. Support certification and accreditation activities for operational systems including performing full Risk Management Framework (RMF) efforts. Assist with National Security Agency (NSA) approval of cryptographic changes to the baseline End Cryptographic Units (ECUs) as well as new developments of ECUs, includes validating the usage of keying material to the operational controlling authorities. Experience developing COMSEC key architecture, and in End Cryptological Unit (ECU) deliverables, process and certification. Experience in cryptographic algorithms and interface with systems developers and international partners. Familiarity with NSA UIC process. Familiarity with KMI and EKMS systems.

Requirements

  • 15 + years of related experience
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Master’s Degree; or a bachelor's degree plus 4 years of additional experience will be considered
  • 10+ years of experience in a role as described above with six years’ supervisory COMSEC experience.
  • Specialized experience with flag-officer level briefings and senior-level interface.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft programs and systems.
  • TS with SCI eligibility
