THE WORK Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems has an opportunity in Ground Support Equipment for a Systems Engineer supporting the F-35 program. On our Sustainment Engineering team, you can help us take on the world’s most important and complex challenges by providing solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. In this important role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals and interact with outside customers. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking. Position Responsibilities performed under general supervision to complete milestones associated with specific projects: Supports risk assessments and risk mitigation plans, including balancing technical risks between systems. Manages key aspects of the technical implementation of the program, by collaborating across a number of disciplines to ensure that technical parameters, interfaces, and assumptions are consistent across disciplines, and interfacing with stakeholders (e.g., engineering, technical staff, client) to ensure program goals are met. Orchestrates cross-functional collaboration opportunities to ensure best practices and domain knowledge are shared. Performs hardware/software troubleshooting. Supports and provides guidance on operations and maintenance, including definition and communication of complete test, integration, and checkout plans for new capabilities. Works continuously and cross-functionally to analyze, test and iterate technical requirements, user stories and operations concepts. Provides technical direction and clarification of requirements within the DevSecOps team. Please Note: This position requires a candidate who is a U.S. Citizen and holds an active Secret security clearance. The role is located at a facility that requires special access. WHO YOU ARE The successful candidate will report to the F-35 Support Equipment (SE) Sustainment Engineering, Systems Engineering Lead. The candidate will actively engage and support multiple teams, ranging from SE Sustainment Engineering, SE R&M, SE Material Readiness Team, Operational Sustainment team, to the individual Aircraft Maintenance Support Engineers to resolve issues which may adversely impact product delivery and performance. The successful candidate will address DMS issues in a timely manner, to prevent any negative impact to SE sustainment. From time to time the candidate will interface with multiple vendors to clearly convey issues, coordinate meetings and support efforts to develop viable solutions to known StOP. Furthermore, the individual will find it necessary to engage Product/Hardware/Component Engineer to resolve Support Equipment design concerns.
