About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Contractor Operations and Maintenance Support (COMS) Technician to support F-16 Mission Tactics Trainer (MTT) simulators for the Air National Guard at Hill AFB, UT. This hands-on technical role focuses on maintaining and operating advanced flight simulation systems and communications networks that replicate F-16 mission environments. Your work ensures the reliability and performance of critical training systems that prepare Air National Guard personnel for real-world operations. By supporting simulator readiness and system integrity, you help safeguard national defense capabilities and contribute to mission success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field + 2 years relevant experience
  • Master’s degree in related field (no experience required)
  • High School diploma or equivalent + 6 years relevant experience
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, safety rules, and technical manuals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe products
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current or active DoD Secret clearance required
  • Must obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, GSEC) prior to start
  • Lift up to 40 pounds overhead
  • Ability to climb into simulators or aircraft cockpits
  • Stooping, bending, and crawling required for device access
  • Must detect environmental cues (e.g., sounds, odors) for troubleshooting
  • Ability to distinguish colors for system diagnostics

Nice To Haves

  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher ((e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, GSEC or equivalent)
  • Experience with F-16 Aircrew or Maintenance Training Systems
  • Prior support of Special Access Program (SAP) efforts
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate simulator systems in accordance with technical manuals and training requirements
  • Support Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) activities, including setup, power cycles, readiness testing, and initialization
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues during training events and daily operations
  • Implement hardware and software modifications to maintain system performance
  • Flexible schedule to meet training demands
  • Apply advanced knowledge to solve complex system and network problems
  • Interpret and work across multiple operating systems and technical schematics
  • Conduct operability tests and perform repairs on computers and associated equipment
  • Provide networking and information systems support for training devices
  • Assist in tracking and updating configuration status of training systems
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports for management
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, security, and base procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
