Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational credential required.
  • 2+ years of experience as an plastic extrusion technician.
  • Demonstrated capability to quickly acquire technical knowledge and apply problem-solving skills effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with a methodical approach to equipment monitoring and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to adapt to night shift schedules and contribute positively within a team-oriented workplace culture.
  • Strong commitment to upholding safety standards and fostering an environment where safety is paramount.
  • Excellent communication skills, dependability, and a proactive attitude toward work responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Expertly operate and fine-tune extrusion machinery following detailed standard operating procedures and industry best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality product output.
  • Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostic assessments of equipment, promptly addressing any deviations to prevent disruptions and support continuous operation.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts by identifying mechanical or operational issues and coordinate with maintenance specialists for swift and effective resolution.
  • Conduct a range of tests-including shrink, tensile, peel, burst, and microview inspections-to thoroughly evaluate product dimensions.
  • Maintain comprehensive and precise production documentation by accurately matching all materials and weights related to each work order, diligently recording output data in QAD, and promptly reporting any deviations or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Perform scheduled cleaning and preventive maintenance tasks to sustain equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Champion workplace safety by strictly adhering to company safety policies and promoting safe practices across the 3rd shift team.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to support continuous improvement initiatives and consistently achieve or exceed production targets without compromising safety or quality.
