Summary: The Extrusion Technician is a machine operator and is responsible for the set-up tear down and operation of the co-extrusion equipment including the par cool tower and liquid smoke application. Our Extrusion Technician must ensure that compliance of the company specifications and regulatory standard. Our Extrusion Technician will perform corrective actions arising from quality or food safety deviations.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent level of education.
  • Experience: 1+ year of machine operating experience; food manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Computer Skills: Must be able to complete paperwork and use SAP as required for the role.
  • Special Skills: Must be able and willing to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Must have strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able and willing to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
  • Must be able and willing to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able and willing to lift up to 20 pounds from below the waist to above the shoulder frequently.
  • Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able and willing to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able and willing to climb stairs throughout the course of scheduled shifts occasionally.
  • Must be able and willing to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at approximately 35 degrees.

Responsibilities

  • Identify problems and initiate corrective action arising from quality and food safety deviations.
  • Identify and support process improvements.
  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions.
  • Must meet commitments with demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Able to read and interpret written information.
  • Comply with all safety food safety GMP and SQF Requirements.
  • Must have the ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Safely use chemicals for cleaning and completing sanitation related processes.
  • Ability to use computer programs for inventory purposes filing of documents and gathering process information.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
  • Must perform all positions of rotation if applicable.
  • Perform any other work as assigned by Management.
