The purpose of this position is to operate or support the operation of production equipment and perform processes related to manufacturing flexible pipe. Extrusion Operators participate in a structured on-the-job training program to develop basic skills through the completion of competency modules and hands-on training.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
High School Diploma or GED
Candidates must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
At least one (1) year of relevant experience in a forward-thinking manufacturing environment is preferred.
Knowledge of mechanics, metal forming, and/or extrusion equipment and processes is preferred.
Candidate must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Candidate must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Candidates must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Candidates must be able to solve practical problems and deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Committed to safety by performing all required tasks in accordance with established Company Policies, Procedures, and Safe Work Practices.

Demonstrates a commitment to being at workstation on time.
Meets all established Company KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
Reports directly to the Extrusion Supervisor and assists the Level III / Designee in set up and operation of the assigned production equipment/machine.
Under the guidance of Level III / designee, Extrusion Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager the Level II Operator operates assigned equipment/machinery for the purpose of producing production, test, or experimental pipe.
Inspects work in progress, as well as the overall finished product to ensure compliance with Company Quality standards.
Maintains work center cleanliness, including material storage areas, in accordance with facility operating policies and Standard Operating Instructions.
Completes required documentation records, as required, in accordance with procedures.
Successfully complete 16-hour Ultrasonic Testing Training (UTT) Course.
Complete Quality Module IV for Extrusion.
Understand Manufacturing Design Specifications (MDS).
Must be able to identify process variation and communicate to Level II, Level III and Extrusion Supervisor any process changes.
Complete 40 hours of Ultrasonic Testing D-meter experience.
Successfully complete NDE – Ultrasonic Testing Certification.
Able to identify anomalies and/or non-conformances.
Assists Lead Operator in analyzing and resolving line operations problems.
When applicable, loads material into machine for production runs, including maintaining material traceability.
Assists Level III Operator, and Extrusion Supervisor for the purpose of coordinating activities associated with the work center.
Assists in all work areas in accordance with the Standard Work Instructions, Policies, and Procedures, as directed by the Extrusion Supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
