We currently have an exciting opportunity for an EXTRUDER OPERATOR C , t o join our facility in Pineville, NC. The position reports to the Production Manager. Job Summary To operate extrusion and related equipment for the purposes of pipe production. These activities are to be conducted while ensuring and maximizing safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost control to achieve plant goals.

Requirements

Minimum 18 years of age.
Completion of high school education or equivalent.
Must have the ability to read, write and do advanced mathematics.
Must be licensed to operate forklift truck, pallet truck and other material handling equipment and able to use basic hand tools.
Have an understanding of all procedures and instructions as required by ANSI/ASQC A9002.
Successful candidate must complete a CTPAT background check.

Responsibilities

General knowledge of extruders and associated equipment such as hopper and material loader, extruder vacuum system, regrind loaders and carbon black feeders.
General knowledge of water baths including vacuum and spray tanks and the ability to change water bags.
General knowledge of pipe printers including print code requirements, cleaning the print head, adding ink and make-up fluids and changing the operators initials and shift code.
General knowledge of saws including the ability to make adjustments for proper saw cut and how to clean the shavings vacuum system where applicable.
General knowledge of bellers and run off tables with the ability to make minor adjustments as required.
Ability to make quality checks using micrometers, calibers, pi-tapes and tape measures. Print line compliance, I.D. & O.D. appearance, bell specifications, and proper length of pipe, saw cut and 8-point wall checks.
Ability to package pipe in correct pallet sizes and quantities and document production.
Ability to identify, transfer and load material for production.
Ability to identify, remove and report scrap in compliance with work instructions.
