About The Position

We are a growing manufacturing company specializing in high-quality plastic films used in flexible packaging applications, including products for the food processing industry. Our team is committed to delivering consistent, reliable packaging solutions while maintaining strong safety, quality, and performance standards. What You’ll Do We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Brown Film Extrusion Operator to safely perform production duties while wearing required PPE and following all safety protocols. This role supports efficient workflow and communication, oversees plastic film production, performs quality checks, and packages finished products according to customer orders and job specifications.

Requirements

  • Extrusion manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
  • Basic math skills required
  • Ability to read and use measurement tools (scale, tape measure, micrometer)
  • Able to read and write English
  • Dependable with reliable attendance
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and stand/walk for extended periods
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Able to follow instructions from supervisors and management
  • Self-motivated with willingness to learn and grow across production operations
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication abilities
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA safety requirements and company policies
  • Wear PPE as required
  • Check product blends at the beginning of each shift or as directed by supervision
  • Assist team members as needed to improve efficiency and promote cooperation
  • Accurately record product weights and quality measurements on production paperwork
  • Report machine throughput and any discrepancies to shift supervisor
  • Assist with machine start-ups, shutdowns, and order changeovers
  • Complete pre-shift inspections and documentation on assigned equipment
  • Perform housekeeping duties (sweeping, cleaning, wipe-downs, trash removal)
  • Communicate effectively with all employees
  • Track runtime/downtime, waste, and quality concerns; ensure reports are accurate
  • Web assigned machine prior to start-up and after shutdown
  • Report safety, quality, or process issues to shift supervisor
  • Respond to machine alarms or notify supervisor as needed
  • Maintain clean production floors and stocked materials for incoming shifts
  • Record running conditions throughout shift on production reports
  • Ensure finished product labeling meets customer specifications
