About The Position

Job Purpose: Monitor daily schedule and provide material handling in support of production operations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education & experience
• Knowledge of practices and procedures in a manufacturing environment related to the handling of material for production support and receiving of materials.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Good verbal communication and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the daily schedule and provide material handling support to extrusion area.
• Unload and store aluminum logs / receive material and support moving logs to the log oven.
• Loads and unloads heat age ovens, records heat age data, tickets loads and moves to stores.
• Oversee level of scrap in scrap trailers, dump scrap into trailers, record scrap pounds, coordinate the pick-up of scrap trailers.
• Confirm all materials and buy-outs are on hand or will be available prior to the scheduled set-up/production.
• Inform the Production Control Department when materials and schedules don't agree.
• Assist in organizing/improving the identification and flow of materials with inventory levels that appear too high or too low.
• Inform Purchasing when materials or inventory levels appear too high or low.
• Communicate with other material handlers and supervisors to successfully sustain operations from shift to shift.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
