Job Summary: A member of the Plant Management Team, represents the department in establishing objectives and long-range goals, ensures the department follows organizational policies, procedures and processes and cooperates with other departments as required in achievement of organizational goals. Lead Supervisors and team members in a flow path to safely produce quality extrusions at the lowest cost by problem-solving to eliminate waste and continue growth. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of leadership work experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent required.
  • Extrusion experience, effective analytical skills, professionalism and organizational skills required.
  • Robust working knowledge of Extrusion Press and Die Practices.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate on all levels. Demonstrated ability to work with a team and independently with all levels of workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the optimal performance of the Extrusion Department. This includes monitoring productivity in lbs. / shift, Department manning and labor costs, recovery and scrap reduction, extrusion run failures, performance and maintenance of production equipment, staff and production performance, press KPI's results to achieve business plan.
  • Oversees the planning and scheduling of department personnel to meet production requirements.
  • Develop and sponsor experiments to support continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for answering Sales and Customer quality concerns.
  • Able to lead and promote a team environment.
  • Ensures that staffing requirements are met for the department, including hiring, employee training and development and goal setting. This includes providing feedback where appropriate.
  • Ensure Customer satisfaction with defect free products and on time deliver time based on production scheduling and demand needs.
  • Perform and audit the necessary quality tests to ensure product conformance and a quality focused work environment.
