About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Extruder Operator - Day Shift to join our team in Middlesex, NC! This is a day shift position that works 4 10's: 6 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Thursday. The hourly rate for this position is $21.47 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Extruder Operator is responsible for quality tube being extruded onto oven pans and loading pans of tube into assigned ovens. This includes operating extruders, ovens, forklift, and maintaining records to comply with regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating stand up forklift
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with computer transactions in ERP system
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in aerospace manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Pull powder from staging area and load powder into perform press
  • Set up extruder with proper pin and die according to set-up sheet
  • Load billet into extruder (4 inch)
  • Set limit switch and set dial speed for extruder
  • Examine extruded tube at beginning and end of each billet
  • Extrude tube onto oven pan
  • Record data onto set up sheet
  • Move pans to oven and load oven
  • Apply mica dust to tube
  • Remove mica dust from pan
  • Monitor tube dimensions
  • Set timers and start ovens (batch)
  • Perform operations in MFGPro
  • Disburse raw materials
  • Keep up air emissions log
  • Perform duties relative to production in the assigned area and is able to operate all equipment and machinery in the assigned area, including lift truck.
  • Produce a quality product, safely, on-time, and with the least cost possible.
  • Review work orders, specifications or instructions to determine material, ingredients, procedures, components and settings. Accurately record data on routers.
  • Accurately complete computer transactions as necessary (labor & scrap transactions, inventory disbursements & cycle counts, expense items, etc.).
  • Participate in cell/team activities including, but not limited to, team meetings, problem-solving, CI events, etc.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment through effective housekeeping, 5S+ and TPM practices
  • Follow all plant, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Model the Eaton ethical conduct policy, Eaton Leadership Model, the Eaton Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
  • Know and follow established job specific and facility wide health and safety procedures.
  • Bring health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management’s attention and correct those they can.
  • Actively participate in accident, injury and illness prevention activities:
  • Assist in developing work station risk assessments.
  • Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions.
  • Accident, near-miss accident or potential hazard investigations.
  • Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
  • Participate actively in providing suggestions for the health and safety program improvement.
  • Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in designated work area.
