The operator uses a cold-feed extruder to convert strips of uncured rubber into tubes, strips or cord. Those materials are used to make preforms for molding.

Requirements

• Minimum education: 12th grade or equivalent
• Minimum experience: six months’ as an extruder helper
• Must be able to use dial calipers.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily time card
• Follows and signs work orders
• If required, completes work order changes
• Follows extruding schedule for shift
• Cleans out extruder
• Follows safety rules
• Extrudes tube on a 2.5-inch extruder
• Extrudes tube on a 4.5-inch extruder
• Extrudes strips on a 2.5-inch extruder
• Extrudes strips on a 4.5-inch extruder
• Extrudes cord on a 2.5-inch extruder
• Extrudes and chops tube on a 2.5 inch extruder
