About The Position

Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plastic extrusion equipment that is used to produce the poly material used for mud flap manufacturing. Perform work quality checks and monitor machine output.

Work safely and be actively engaged in site safety programs.
Starting up extruder, monitoring material flow and adjusting extruder equipment for production.
Making extraction process adjustments to control sheet output.
Provide maintenance or calibration of machine to ensure material is running properly.
Safely operate a Forklift and overhead crane to move material or equipment as needed.
Excellent attendance & punctuality.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Cross train in other areas and perform other duties as assigned.

Work is performed in a factory setting.
Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
Regular lifting, sometimes up to Thirty pounds with occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
Must wear gloves; eye and ear protection only in marked areas where required.
Composite or Steel-toe shoes are required.

Requirements

• Basic math skills
• Mechanically inclined, understanding of hand tools and quality tools (i.e. screw drivers, hammers, calipers, tape measurer, etc.)
• Detailed oriented, organized, and motivated
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to understand spoken and written English
• Previous Forklift experience
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent GED
• Experience working with profiled extrusion and sheet line experience a plus.
• Prior experience using production machinery.
• Previous Forklift experience.
