About The Position

This position is responsible for the efficient operation of a specific line or work area in the production department. This job description outlines the principal duties and in no way states or implies these are the only duties to be performed in this position.

Requirements

  • MUST BE LEGALLY AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups (employees or customers).
  • Have ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Have ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
  • Maintain their designated work spaces in a clean, safe and timely manner in compliance with the plants THM/Safety policy.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel and able to talk and hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and maintain all documentation required and barcode system for production reporting
  • Must prepare to pass the Job Certification Test for level “C” in 90 days from start date
  • Maintain operation of multiple lines, including loading gaskets and packaging end product for shipment
  • Prepare packaging materials
  • Visually inspect product for quality control purposes
  • Measure and record pipe dimensions as directed
  • Make adjustments on bellers and printing equipment as needed
  • Move bundled pipe from work area, (scrap and good product)
  • Assist in production line start-up activities and changeovers.
  • Cut and band scrap as directed
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, product defects or unsafe conditions immediately
  • Work as a team with other personnel.
