About The Position

Candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work well both independently and in a group setting. Must have excellent organizational and problem solving skills. Must possess the ability to multitask and maintain professionalism while working in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Tasks include but are not limited to: Coordinate & cooperate with other departments to provide excellent customer service. Ensure proper interchange, constructive placement, classing and reporting of railcars. Update billing & movement records of railcars. Prepare work orders and communicate with customers as needed. Communicate with other railroads to obtain proper documentation of incoming and outgoing railcars. Handle customer service calls. Ensure compliance with all railroad, state and federal rules and regulations. Call transportation crews for duty in accordance with collective bargaining agreements. Update systems and coordinate with managers to finalize crew work assignments. Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Basic knowledge of excel spreadsheets
  • Job requires regular attendance with mandatory overtime, varying shifts, holidays, weekends
  • Job requires working a nonstandard workweek including being on call for various shifts
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for hours at a time
  • Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs
  • Must be able to operate a computer as well as other office machinery
  • Must be able to move about the office to access files and office machinery
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and exchange information with others
