About The Position
The Media Research Center (MRC) is seeking an External Affairs Intern to support our coalition relations, outreach, and event planning efforts. This intern will work closely with MRCâs External Affairs team to help build relationships with partner organizations, assist with research projects, and coordinate communications and events. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate who is passionate about conservative values and eager to gain firsthand experience in political outreach and coalition-building. The External Affairs Intern will be a key contributor to several high-impact initiatives and will collaborate with multiple departments across the organization. The role is based at MRCâs headquarters and is in-person only. This internship is designed for students and recent graduates. The position is in-person only at MRC headquarters; remote work is not available.
Requirements
- Interested in current events and the conservative movement
- Organized, self-motivated, and reliable
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in political science, government affairs, public relations, or a related field
Responsibilities
- Assist with outreach to conservative coalition partners and allied organizations
- Support weekly newsletter creation and distribution
- Help organize and plan events
- Update and maintain contact databases and lists
- Conduct research to support External Affairs initiatives
- Coordinate logistics and communications across departments as needed
