The Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources ( ANR ) will support small-scale and limited-resource farmers by providing expert consultations, education, and hands-on training to enhance productivity and income. This role focuses on developing and delivering research-based programs that address key agricultural, economic, and environmental challenges in the community. Key Program Areas: Commercial Vegetable & Fruit Production – Enhancing crop yield, quality, and marketability. High Tunnel Crop Production – Extending growing seasons and improving production efficiency. Beekeeping & Pollination – Supporting pollinator health and sustainable honey production. Harvesting, Handling & Marketing Fresh Produce – Improving post-harvest practices and market access. Agritourism & Alternative Crops – Expanding farm income through tourism and niche crops. Home & Community Gardening – Promoting sustainable gardening practices for individuals and groups. The Extension Agent for ANR will provide hands-on, research-based training and conduct farm demonstrations on best management practices, innovative technologies, and sustainable agricultural methods. Additionally, this role will collaborate with local organizations to expand outreach efforts, assess program needs, and engage the community through advisory committees and direct participant feedback.
