About The Position

Extended School Year Student Assistants K-12 student assistants substitutes as needed. Description -Program provides support for instruction to students to maintain identified maintenance of reading, writing, math and social skill IEP specific goals for students K-12. High school diploma required. The program runs June 29-July 30 every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30AM-12:00PM for students and 8:15AM-12:15PM for staff. Compensation will be TBD per contract.

Responsibilities

• ESY Special education assistants provide functional and academic support to students under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Supporting the adaptive/functional and self-help skills of students.
• Supporting special education teachers in the implementation of the instructional teaching content delivered per IEP identified skills/needs.
• Communicating and collaborating with students, staff, and other professionals during the program.
• Taking data as directed by the special education teacher to support the communicating of student maintenance of skills.
• Implement student positive behavior support plans
• Support the adaptive/functional needs of students.
• Participate in any training to support student needs.
