About The Position

The NDSU Extension Soybean Plant Pathology team is looking for a motivated individual to help assist in daily greenhouse and laboratory research activities. Individuals will gain valuable training in pest identification, experimental design, and collaborative work.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team and must be able to physically perform field duties under highly variable conditions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills together with the ability to operate in a safe, efficient manner
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Enrolled at North Dakota State University pursuing a degree in an agronomic science or closely related biological, microbiological or agricultural field of study

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with grain inoculum production for spring 2026 field trials
  • Watering and fertilizing soybeans in the greenhouse
  • Aiding research faculty/staff and graduate students with lab and greenhouse projects - sub-culturing fungi and oomycetes, DNA extraction, PCR, planting soybean lines, inoculations, etc.
  • Counting and packaging soybean seed in preparation for planting field trials
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
