Position Summary: The Business Support Specialist plays a key role in bridging business operations and technology. This position is responsible for gathering requirements for new operational initiatives, communicating needs to the technology team, and tracking progress from request through implementation. The analyst ensures that system enhancements align with business goals, improve operational efficiency, and deliver measurable value. This individual will support continuous improvement by monitoring performance metrics, identifying optimization opportunities, and providing insights that influence business and technology decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of experience in operations, business analysis, or process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of business process design and technology-driven change management.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills — ability to translate business needs into technical language.
  • Experience working with data and metrics to assess project success and ROI.
  • Proficiency with project tracking or collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in process mapping and workflow documentation (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Miro).
  • Familiarity with reporting or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Project Intake & Requirements Gathering Collaborate with operations leaders and end users to identify needs and translate them into clear, actionable business requirements.
  • Document current-state processes and map future-state workflows in partnership with technology teams.
  • Prioritize enhancement requests based on business impact, urgency, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Communication & Coordination Serve as the liaison between operations and technology teams.
  • Clearly communicate requirements, timelines, and status updates to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Facilitate meetings, demonstrations, and testing sessions to ensure accurate implementation of requested changes.
  • Tracking & Reporting Maintain a centralized tracker of project requests, development status, and deployment timelines.
  • Monitor success metrics post-implementation to assess impact and adoption.
  • Provide regular reporting on project performance, efficiency gains, and improvement opportunities.
  • Value Measurement Quantify operational impact (e.g., time savings, productivity improvements, error reduction).
  • Build business cases for future initiatives supported by data and post-implementation results.
  • Identify ongoing opportunities to refine or enhance systems based on user feedback and performance data.
  • Continuous Improvement Support documentation of new processes and training materials for end users.
  • Identify process gaps and propose technology-driven solutions.
  • Stay current on system capabilities and best practices to recommend innovations.
