About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Export Compliance Officer to join our team in Mt Arlington, NJ. In this critical role, you will ensure that all international trade activities and regulatory obligations are met, safeguarding our operations and supporting our mission to deliver world-class defense technology responsibly. As the Export Compliance Officer, you will serve as the trusted guardian of KDA Inc.’s compliance framework—overseeing export controls, monitoring trade regulations, and partnering with internal teams to maintain adherence to U.S. and international laws. Your expertise will directly contribute to protecting our business, strengthening our global partnerships, and enabling us to operate with excellence in a highly regulated industry.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • 3 years working knowledge of ITAR, Commerce and ATF preferred as well as Import/Export experience.
  • Bureau of Alcohol Tabacco and Firearms regulations and/ or Department of War Arms Ammunition and Explosives experience preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiar with MS Teams.
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Mt Arlington, NJ: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Draft export license applications to the Department of State.
  • Maintain Federal Firearms License (FFL) and Armory records
  • Provide oversight of FFL and armory operations for the location
  • Track status of all export authorizations from initial internal request to governmental approval.
  • Assist with Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) drafting.
  • Maintain records of all uses of ITAR exemptions.
  • Draft Export Authorization Control Plans (EACPs) for new TAAs.
  • Prepare End User Certificates (EUCs), Delivery Verification Certificates (DVCs), and International Import Certificates (IICs).
  • Coordinate activities with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Monitor site compliance with Compliance Supervisor’s oversight.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
