About The Position

Overview We are seeking an Expert Systems Engineer to support and guide complex engineering efforts across CAP/SAP architectures, NSG/ASG environments, and Federal Agencies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely, accurate delivery of GEOINT by applying a multi-discipline systems engineering approach across the full lifecycle, from requirements through integration, evaluation, and sustainment. The ideal candidate brings deep experience operating at an enterprise level, advising senior government stakeholders, and integrating large, mission-critical systems across organizational and agency boundaries. Key Responsibilities Support planning, analysis, and traceability of user and system requirements, architectures, procedures, and problem areas to improve or automate existing systems. Evaluate cloud service capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations to inform system and architectural decisions. Assist Government Office and Division Chiefs with assessing, documenting, tracking, and refining engineering requirements. Facilitate and support Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) to inform government and contractor teams on systems engineering and integration activities. Advise government stakeholders on solution design changes based on requirements analysis and emerging technologies. Support the capture and translation of mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and actionable solutions. Assist with the analysis and allocation of requirements to system architecture components and execution programs. Support and participate in systems integration activities across new and existing capabilities. Contribute to Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments. Assist government stakeholders with strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design. Provide expert guidance aligning vision, strategy, plans, requirements, processes, and capability development. Operate at the enterprise level, integrating multiple Major Systems Acquisitions across organizational, agency, departmental, and governmental boundaries. Oversee and coordinate the efforts of senior- and mid-level systems engineers. Work closely with SPG development contractors and security teams as a systems integration subject matter expert. Clearly communicate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior-level government personnel while working independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
  • 18+ years of experience in government or industry environments involving: DoD or IC Acquisition Processes Requirements Processes PPBES Processes Systems engineering of large, complex System-of-Systems, SOA, or cloud environments
  • 12+ years of experience applying systems engineering lifecycle principles.
  • 10+ years supporting assessment, evaluation, and deployment of new or emerging technologies into operational environments, including architectural impact analysis and recommendations.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting GEOINT systems, services, or products.
  • 8+ years managing system interfaces and end-to-end integration of new and existing capabilities.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management or technical team leadership.
  • Required: Space systems experience .
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required
  • Willingness to sit for a CI polygraph , if required

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
  • Experience supporting CAP/SAP architectures, NSG, ASG, or NRO enterprises.
  • Background in geospatial intelligence systems or missions.
  • Experience overseeing systems definition, development, or cloud technology engineering and migration.
  • Experience engineering solutions using structured and unstructured large data sets.
  • Experience engineering solutions leveraging AAA technologies.
  • Expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, GIS, geomatics, or related fields.
  • Experience in mission management, exploitation management, or intelligence reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, or languages.
  • Relevant certifications such as Agile, PMP, INCOSE, or software development frameworks.
