The Expert Field Service Technician is a hands-on, field-based role responsible for keeping advanced water production and wastewater treatment systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems, monitor water chemistry, perform light industrial maintenance, and ensure systems operate according to dew point scheduling. This is a field-first role that includes direct customer interaction, work across multiple sites or systems, and leadership responsibilities, including coaching and guiding junior technicians. You’ll regularly work outdoors in all weather conditions and must be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, industrial environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3–7 years of technical, operations, or industrial experience
  • Water production, wastewater treatment, or water chemistry experience strongly preferred
  • Industrial or light maintenance experience preferred
  • Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting skills
  • Electrical and/or diesel experience is a plus
  • Self-starter able to work independently and lead others in the field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices
  • Customer service experience required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Water Treatment License (A, B, C, or D)
  • Preferred: Technical military background, tech certificate, or industry license

Responsibilities

  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain water production and wastewater treatment systems
  • Monitor and adjust systems based on water chemistry and operational data
  • Work with dew point scheduling to optimize system performance
  • Perform preventative maintenance, light industrial maintenance, and parts inventory management
  • Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and diesel equipment issues
  • Identify and correct safety hazards while maintaining a safe work environment
  • Lead, coach, and mentor junior technicians as needed
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with team members
  • Collect operational data, input for tracking, and compile reports for customers
  • Provide professional customer service and maintain strong customer relationships
