About The Position

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a broad range of experience levels to include an Experienced Weight Operation Technical Analyst to join the Flight Systems Capability team in San Antonio, TX with the opportunity to provide engineering and technical decisions for Boeing Military Aircraft (B-52), Military Derivative Aircraft (AWACS (767), Executive Transport (C-32/C-40, E-4B, VC-25A, VC-25B) and other diverse aircraft and projects. The Mass Properties team is looking for an individual with experience in aircraft weight and balance analysis. This position requires proficiency in the mass properties discipline and knowledge of mass properties analysis and weighing of military and commercial derivative aircraft. Familiarity with Air Force Aircraft/Navy Mass Properties customer requirements, processes, analytical tools, and reporting methods is desired. This position will be 100% onsite in San Antonio, TX . This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret with SAP Clearance Post-Start is required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with technical analysis
  • 1+ years of experience in weighing aircraft or similar aircraft operations support activities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Travel may be required up to 25% time
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret with SAP Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certified to weigh US DoD aircraft by DoD branch or commercial equivalent training
  • Certified to use Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) software
  • Associates degree or higher

Responsibilities

  • Develops and updates inventory equipment lists, conducts inventories, weighs aircraft, determines center of gravity of aircraft and documents results
  • Balances flight control surfaces
  • Develops standard flight load planning and helps direct airplane loading of variable load elements.
  • Assists in the inspection of aircraft to calculate effects of actual weight and location of variable load elements on airplane gross weight and center of gravity and prepares fl ight manifests for pilot's signatures and flight release
  • Weighs and determines the centers of gravity of components and assemblies
  • Resolves routine problems with equipment, components and weighing systems
  • Works under general supervision
