About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an Experienced Truck Technician to join their team. As an Experienced Truck Technician / Mechanic, the role involves maintaining and repairing medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring every job is completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The technician will directly support customer success by keeping trucks running smoothly and maximizing uptime. Daily tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, identifying solutions to restore trucks to peak performance. This may involve repairing or rebuilding major components such as cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. The position offers opportunities for continuous skill improvement while working alongside other highly trained technicians in a fully equipped shop, performing top-quality work with the right tools, training, and support.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair
  • Will also accept candidates with a Diesel tech degree and a mechanical aptitude/background
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Self-motivation and assertiveness
  • Ability to work under little or no supervision
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills
  • Must provide own tools

  • Cummins and MX software experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring every job is completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards
