About The Position

St. Peter's provides comprehensive Maternal/Child services, delivering over 2700 babies a year, including many high-risk pregnancies and multiple births. The family-centered team includes physicians, licensed nurse midwives, dedicated perinatal nurses, social work and spiritual care services, skilled techs, and lactation consultants, offering the opportunity to work with mother and baby as a family unit. Requirements

  • Current NYS RN
  • One year of Med Surg or Maternity experience

Responsibilities

  • Assessing the needs of each patient to which he or she is assigned, including spiritual, emotional and physiological needs.
  • Planning the nursing care needed to meet those needs.
  • Ensuring that the plan of care is carried out through performance and/or leadership of supervised personnel and that the plan of care is evaluated.
  • Directly accountable to the Nurse Manager for the quality of patient care delivered.
  • Modifying and delivering care that is specific to the age, growth and development of patients according to the unit scope of services.
  • Performing clinical and leadership functions when serving in the charge role.
