About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced Procurement Agent (Level 3) to join their team in Dallas, TX. This role involves sourcing and purchasing aerospace parts, compiling and analyzing data to determine product feasibility and establish price objectives. The agent will stay informed on price trends and manufacturing processes, confer with suppliers, and analyze their operations to identify factors affecting prices, ensuring the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and schedule adherence. Key tasks include reviewing proposals, negotiating prices, selecting or recommending suppliers, analyzing trends, following up on orders, verifying deliveries, approving payments, and maintaining necessary records. The position may also involve preparing bid packages.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of related work experience
  • 4 years of experience with basic ERP system functionality such as Systems Applications and Processing (SAP) and/or Procurement to Pay (PTP)
  • 4 years of experience working directly with suppliers or supplier management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Experience in negotiating

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field of study
  • APICS Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • 4+ years of experience with cost proposal preparation on government contracts.
  • Experience working in a distribution business environment
  • Experience in commodity / product knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple competing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Deliver on savings and inventory requirements as per the commodity and business strategies.
  • Conduct market analysis and implement long-term agreements in accordance with business strategies to deliver on savings and inventory requirements.
  • Use business analysis to determine if orders need to be placed to meet global procurement requirements.
  • Select suppliers, negotiate pricing, issue purchase orders, re-align deliveries, follow up, and expedite as necessary.
  • Analyze assigned part numbers and manage queue.
  • Work closely with the Sales department on customer requests and requirements to determine best course of action.
  • Work cross-functionally and with suppliers on payment issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with the Quality department on defective or unacceptable goods and determine appropriate course of action.
  • Prepare and negotiate packages with suppliers to drive increased savings opportunities.
  • Execute strategic initiatives and develop new opportunities.
  • Confirm Purchase Order acknowledgments and verify accuracy of PO details.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of department key deliverables and how buying decisions impact those deliverables.
  • Utilize reports to achieve past dues, order book alignment, and other department key metrics.
  • Provide expertise on business process and continuous improvement.
  • Train other team members.
