About The Position

Mickey Keenan, PA is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their caseload, and is passionate about helping injured clients navigate the legal system. You will work closely with our attorneys, case managers, and clients to ensure cases move efficiently toward successful resolutions.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3-5 years of paralegal experience in personal injury litigation (auto accidents, premises liability, or other PI practice areas)
  • Strong working knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Florida court system
  • Experience with e-filing in Florida courts (Florida Courts E-Filing Portal)
  • Proficiency with case management software (Filevine, Clio, Litify, CASEpeer, SmartAdvocate, or similar platforms)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — ability to communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and medical providers
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail — ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive, confidential client information with discretion

Nice To Haves

  • Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) or NALA Certified Paralegal (CP) credential
  • Experience with medical lien resolution, Medicare/Medicaid subrogation, and letters of protection (LOPs)
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to read and summarize medical records
  • Trial experience (supporting attorneys through trial preparation and courtroom proceedings)

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing demand packages: compiling medical records, bills, lost wage documentation, and supporting evidence
  • Draft demand letters and settlement correspondence under attorney supervision
  • Communicate with insurance adjusters and defense counsel regarding settlement negotiations and case status
  • Prepare settlement statements, disbursement sheets, and closing documents; coordinate final settlements with clients and lienholders
  • E-file documents with Florida courts using the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal
  • Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and hearings
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trial testimony
  • Assist with trial preparation: organize exhibits, prepare trial notebooks, coordinate expert witnesses, and support attorneys during trial
  • Work collaboratively with intake coordinators, case managers, and attorneys to ensure seamless case progression
  • Provide regular case status updates to supervising attorneys and firm leadership
  • Assist with special projects, process improvements, and training of junior staff as needed
