About The Position

The Experienced Miner is responsible for safely and efficiently performing mining operations in a hard rock limestone environment. This role requires hands-on experience with drilling, blasting, scaling, loading, and hauling materials while maintaining strict adherence to MSHA regulations and company safety standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 5 years of mining experience (hard rock preferred)
• MSHA certification (Part 46 or 48 depending on site)
• Experience operating heavy equipment in a mining or quarry environment
• Strong understanding of: Ground control, Drill and blast processes, Safe material handling
• Ability to read mine plans and follow production layouts

Nice To Haves

• Blasting certification
• Experience in limestone or aggregate operations
• Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment repairs
• Experience with underground (room & pillar) operations

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including: Haul trucks, Front-end loaders, Drills (top hammer, DTH, or jumbo depending on operation), Excavators and skid steers
• Perform drilling and assist with blasting operations (if certified)
• Conduct scaling of loose rock from highwalls or underground headings
• Load, haul, and dump limestone material safely and efficiently
• Inspect work areas for hazards and ensure ground stability
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections
• Follow all MSHA regulations and site-specific safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
• Maintain production targets while prioritizing safety
