Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Resides within or willing to relocate within a reasonable response time distance (approx. 15 minutes) from the reporting location. Ensures that trucks, tools, and assigned equipment are properly used, and maintained. Climbs poles and operates out of bucket truck. Operate and maintain all line equipment. Bypass breakers in substations and downstream devices. Performs transmission switching with Generation and Transmission provider. Provides training and leadership for Apprentice Linemen. Ensures that all safety procedures and precautions are followed. Occasionally performs supervisory activities. Follows Cooperative, NESC, NEC, REA, OSHA, state, and other regulatory agency procedures and rules in the performance of all work. Satisfies callout rotation, duties, and responsibilities. Performs all necessary activities in construction, trouble shooting and maintenance of energized, and de-energized, overhead and underground distribution lines. Patrols lines, identifies, repairs, or replaces defective materials, equipment or unsafe conditions, and notifies supervisor if necessary. Required to be on-call, available to work weekends, holidays and non-standard hours as needed. Maintain professional working relationships with all employees, members, and vendors at all times. Maintain regular attendance; arrives to work on time and is ready to work. Use safe work practices at all times and in all situations. Must be able to appropriately handle confidential information and act within the practices established by the Bluebonnet Red Flag policy.
