This position will have the opportunity to develop and implement systems engineering processes and tools for current and future development and production programs. These activities provide a technical foundation for digital sustainment and decision support for our internal and external customers. The position offers exposure to the entire development life cycle of our products with an emphasis on operations and support. This position will entail working on a team which develops our model-based sustainment simulation (MBSS) capability, which enables our customers to define and execute supportability trade studies based on the latest fleet performance data, experiment and test the results of anticipated events and choice of responses and make better informed decisions while fully supported with visibility to the options available to them. Support of this team will include working on IRAD/ Market Assist/ and CTRD projects associated with various Boeing platforms in support of the Virtual Sustainment Center (VSC). The VSC is Boeing Global Services’ counterpart to the Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) with the goal to improve sustainment analysis for internal initiatives and external partners using modeling and simulation technologies. This capability employs an agile development methodology consistent with the Department of Defense (DoD) requirements and is adaptable to rapidly respond to customer needs. The position will focus on functional, logical, and operational architectures; requirements development and management; logistics and supply chain network, lifecycle cost and mission analyses. Frequent engagements with other program leaders and subject matter experts is expected and offers broad visibility to diverse programs across Boeing. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of our future government services programs. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, problem solver able to work multiple tasks and work well with cross-functional teams including software and data science. The ability to maintain and develop plans/schedules and to monitor and report schedule performance is required. Good oral and written communication are essential to success in this position. Background in one or more of the following areas is preferred: logistics support, modeling and simulation analysis (logistics, operations, cost), software development, integration and test, data science and simulation animation.
