Our firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of family law experience, who is committed to practicing family law long-term and who values both the legal and human aspects of this work. Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Active license in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar
• Minimum of 7-10 years of family law experience
• Significant courtroom and hearing experience
• Strong legal writing and advocacy skills
• Experience negotiating settlements and participating in mediation
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills
• Working knowledge of local rules in Durham, Wake, and surrounding counties

Nice To Haves

• Attorneys with an existing referral network or book of business are encouraged to apply, though it is not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and court orders
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
• Advise clients regarding their legal rights, options, and potential outcomes
• Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations
• Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and trial
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management
• Maintain regular client communication and provide case updates
• Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules
