About The Position

This position is responsible for reading the work orders and cutting material as instructed for upholstered furniture.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous marking/cutting experience a plus
• Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks
• Must be able to work in noisy environments
• Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble product or operate machine as directed
• Frequently lifting/carrying objects up to 50 lbs.; rarely lifting/carrying objects 51-75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Verifies that fabric and pattern correspond to the work order
• Inspects fabric for defects and verifies the dye lots
• Locates correct pattern and checks swatches for proper alignment of fabric
• Pulls correct pattern and puts away when done
• Marks out the fabric and cuts to proper size and shape
• Marks and bundles all parts together and places in proper area for pick-up
• Records all yardages used on ticket
• Required to 4-way match fabric
• Places cut rolls in proper area for pick-up
• Maintains equipment and work area in an orderly manner
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned
