The Work The Cook assists Kitchen Management in keeping our guest’s dining experience far and above anywhere else! The cook helps create an authentic, amazing guest experience through attention to detail, response to guest requests, and impeccable dining service, including:

Requirements

  • Team player a must; prior kitchen experience in a high-volume, fast paced restaurant/bar preferred
  • High level listening and communication skills supported by strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to manage controllable items, analyze and provide input on cost saving measures, proper execution, and efficient output
  • Able to quickly read, comprehend and prepare dining orders from a POS printer and Monitor
  • Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines with minimal supervision in noisy, fast paced environment with frequent distractions
  • Must be able to walk or stand and exert fast-paced mobility for several hours at a time.
  • Must have a good sense of balance, be able to bend, reach, mop, sweep, wipe and kneel and have the ability to lift bus tubs, glass racks and trays frequently weighing up to 25-50 pounds
  • Work conditions with both hot and cold temperatures
  • Work days, nights and/or weekends as required.
  • Age 18 or older
  • Ability to obtain any required food service licenses or certifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensures cooking station and line runs at optimal efficiency
  • Adheres to recipes to ensure consistent food quality and presentation
  • Successfully reads, prepares, and assembles multiple dining orders simultaneously, quickly and consistently and with a level of enthusiasm that is upbeat and positive
  • Follows portion guidelines to ensure cost control, while maximizing the Guest experience.
  • Follows procedures to ensure that the environment is clean, safe, and in good repair for co-workers and guests exceeding health and sanitation regulations, including:
  • Safely and correctly operates all equipment
  • Perform and uphold sanitation for kitchen spaces, equipment, and tools.
  • Perform daily food service prep and closure
  • Perform ongoing kitchen stocking and maintenance duties, accurately creating the inventory sheet
  • Make recommendations to keep high standards of 1UP’s beverage program
  • Notifies manager and keeps them fully informed of any potential kitchen issues or concerns
  • Demonstrate effective communication, conflict and incident resolution, quickly and courteously
  • Positively represent the 1UP brand in our community and local market
  • Assist others and perform additional duties as directed or when business needs dictate
