BJ’s Wholesale Club is powered by more than 30,000 team members. This role involves receiving, rotating, cutting, wrapping, and merchandising fresh and processed meats, including grinds. The Butcher assists in merchandising of seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, pre-packed deli, and in the rotisserie chicken area and full-service deli. They also assist in meat selection and cut special meat arrangements for Members, while maintaining all sanitation and safety standards within the meat department. Team Members are expected to carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned, support club policies, procedures, and compliance, strive for flawless execution, act with honesty and integrity, lead with the member in mind, ensure a safe and positive environment, embrace inclusion and diversity, work collaboratively, achieve goals, move with speed and agility, innovate and adapt, and maintain a friendly and positive attitude. They are also responsible for delivering service excellence to members, resolving concerns, and ensuring a safe and positive member experience. Daily commitment to GOLD Member Standards (Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate, Fast, Friendly) and Club Standards (Full, Fresh, Clean, All items stocked, promotional plans executed, visible accurate signage, Clean and organized) is expected. Understanding how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department and seeing the connection between consistent execution and positive business impact is also part of the role.
