What You’ll Do As an Experienced Audit Accountant, you’ll play a key role on audit engagements for commercial clients and employee benefit plans.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA‑eligible required)
1+ years of audit experience working within public accounting
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work productively in a professional environment

Nice To Haves

Experience with commercial-sector audits (real estate, manufacturing, business services, etc.) preferred
CPA or advanced degree (MBA/Master’s) preferred
Proficiency with spreadsheet/database tools; experience with financial software a plus

Responsibilities

Conducts financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, organizes work papers, maintains open items list, and conducts self-review of work before submission to reviewers.
Prepares financial statements with supplementary reports and required disclosures in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Assist in the performance of benefit plan audits required under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, including benefit plans of publicly traded companies.
Responsible for interviewing client staff as needed to gather relevant information to complete assignments.
Communicates information, suggestions and/or problem issues regarding audit status and critical findings throughout the assignments to the Manager.
Evaluates all technical steps to complete and review work papers with the Supervisor or Manager.
Starts to assist Seniors with engagement management (planning, engagement file wrap-up, communications, and staff development).
Reviews and evaluates the internal controls and ensures the proper audit program has been prepared.
Supports the Manager/Partner through maintaining a good working relationship with client personnel and other team members and demonstrating an awareness of the client's business.
May assist the Senior/Supervisor as the reviewer on some audit engagements, which includes conducting a review of work papers prior to managerial review, to ensure that staff properly carry out the procedures assigned to them; that programs and conclusions are properly completed; and that the documentation of the audit or review work conforms to Firm standards.
